An urban adventure to discover Venice, the city of canals, secrets and masks, by following the footsteps of one of its most fascinating figures: Giacomo Casanova.
Born in Venice in 1725, Casanova went down in history as the ultimate seducer, yet his life was far more complex and surprising. A man of great intelligence and curiosity, he devoted himself to learning, science and the arts, moving among the most refined salons of Europe and forging relationships with nobles, intellectuals and clergy.
His free spirit, sharp wit and audacity, however, made him an uncomfortable figure in the eyes of those in power. In 1755 he was arrested and imprisoned in the Piombi, one of the most feared prisons of the Venetian Republic, accused of immoral conduct and suspicious practices. From there, he carried out one of the most extraordinary escapes in history, becoming a legend.
The experience offers three distinct narrative routes, carefully designed not to overlap, providing a wide choice in terms of duration and urban areas to explore. Each itinerary reveals a different side of both Venice and Casanova, allowing participants to enjoy the adventure at their own pace and according to their interests.
The journey leads through quiet calli, water-front palaces, intrigues, passions and hidden secrets. The routes pass through iconic locations such as the Rialto Market, St Mark’s Square, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doge’s Palace, while also unveiling lesser-known corners of the city, where elegance and mystery intertwine far from the beaten track.

Along the way you will find refreshment areas, public toilets, and shade spots where you can stop and rest if needed. However, we encourage you to take a water bottle with you and wear comfortable shoes. For some puzzles it may be helpful to have pen and paper handy.
